Industry News: NSW Gross Feed in Tariff

Feed in Tariffs are financial incentives provided by various state governments and utility providers that serve as an additional benefit for switching to green energy.

A majority of Australia's current Feed in Tariff schemes are Net, paying consumers a premium for the surplus electricity fed back into the main grid.  In comparison, a Gross Feed in Tariff scheme pays consumers for all electricity generated by a  grid connect solar system.

On Tuesday 10 November, the Rees Government announced that a Gross Feed in Tariff would be in place for NSW, beginning on January 1, 2010. This is great news for NSW residents, making the decision to switch to solar even more financially viable.

To learn more about Feed in Tariffs in your state, visit the Feed in Tariff section of our website.
